If you go for a walk outside tonight, listen for tiny short chirps from high up above. It’s the sound of birds on a loooooong journey. Fall migration is ON!
Many birds migrate at night, including my favorites, the wood-warblers (and the red-eyed vireo up above). It’s a huge, amazing hidden phenomenon happening over our heads as we sleep; the massive clouds of birds even show up on radar. The trip from north to south is dangerous for the little critters.
